I owned a Sprint SS in 98. Black, great looking & great running bike. There were only approx 150-200 of the SS´s made for 98. So, very rare bike. Just like a couple other bikrs I´ve had, I should have kept it. Unlike the Sprint Exec´s, it had more rearset pegs, fully adjustable suspension front & back, along with less weight. It was really a Speed Triple with higher bars & a half fairing. And compared to the 94 - 96 or 97 Speed triples(which had sold for approx $13k), it was a great deal at approx $8700. I´m sure the guys who bought tose earlier Triumphs were a bit %!¤ at a price reduction of over $4k in retail price which blew their resale values. Not big power for a 900, but enough for the street. A pooch compared to a Honda 900RR. I very, very rarely ever see one even at older bike gatherings.
