Hi Glen (if you´re still about) and Phil. I too am just becoming the proud owner of a ´97 Trident 900. Due to pick it up next Saturday. I nearly bought a "J" reg. a week ago with a 3 into 1 and non standard colours but then found this "R" reg. with 3300 miles on at the local Miles Kingsport. I gave it a blast round the bypass and it sounds lovely but the wind tires you at 80 plus. I suppose that´s the price you pay for the good looks of a naked bike. The wife seemed happy and comfortable on the back as well. They seem fairly rare as there are never many for sale in MCN unless they are so good the owners rarely part with them. I´ve always been a Jap bike fan and never really considered a brit. Too worried about oil leaks and the clattery engines of old I suppose, but these later Triumphs seem a match if not better than the Japs and have that individual touch without the expense of an Italian. I´ve always prefered a naked or retro style bike to the race rep. crotch rockets that all look and sound the same and a full blown tourer would not be practical at the moment. Let me know how you are settling in with your new aquisition Phil. Chris |
