Keep reading, the top bit´s just background but I do need help... I recently bought a nice shiny ´05 reg T100 Bonneville only to have issues with a damaged cam shaft. I got the cam repaired under warranty but the dealer isn´t keen on stripping the whole engine down to inspect the lower end (the cam damage looked like an oil delivery issue). I really like the bike and think the repairs will do the job but want to get some confidence back in the engine so I´ve decided to get some oil samples analysed for excessive wear so I can prove if the lower end is alright or not. This means I need a couple of comparator engines to take samples from and I was wondering if anyone would mind sending me three at various intervals as described below: 1. Following Oil/Filter change (i.e. new oil from the engine). 2. After 250 miles 3. After 500 miles The engine needs to be a carb model and have done less than 3.5k miles and I´ll need the samples between Sept 2010 and Nov 2010 to get the results back while the bike´s still under warranty. I´ll pay for your samples to be analysed and send you the results, I just need your oil. If you can help, please email me \ |
