Cant get past 50 mph

Cant get past 50 mph

I bought this bike new in 2008. It´s a 2007 model. It has about 100 miles on it so far. When out on the open road I cant seem to get the bike past 50 mph. Mechanically it seems fine. Will this improve after its broke in? Any ideas or suggestions appreciated.
