TANK 150 Urban Sporty: I purchased this scooter this week. So far I am very happy with my scooter. I have to say this thing is a blast to ride. The dealer (San Diego Scooters and Cycles in Pacific Beach) eliminated many of the known problems by ordering his bikes with a Japanese wiring harness, changing out the existing rubber with new gas and vacuum lines, NGK sparkplug, better tires, and a few other things. The 150cc PY6 Honda designed engine pulls my 190 pound kiester around without problem. I can zoom around city streets at 45 without a problem. I got it up to 65, but don’t recommend it. The $1500 price tag was less expensive than purchasing a used Japanese scooter. Having it dealer prepared is the way to go. Since it is my first week all I have is a 1st impression. So far I am very happy. Insurance: I purchased total coverage from Geico for $260/year.. It was a little expensive for a $1500 bike, but worth it if I actually need it. Liability only would have been 1/3 that cost. Uninsured motorists insurance cost $80, so you could actually save quite a bit if you didn’t want the additional coverage. |
