Don´t know much about the Honda Varadero, but the V-Strom is lighter (40lbs), performs better and cheaper than the Honda. Don´t get me wrong, the last I read about the Varadero, it sounded as it handled itself quite well in a comparison. I think it´ll come down to your taste...
