I own a 1971 sl70 and when I squeeze the Hans brake, the tail light works and the engine dies. I do not have a battery at this time, could that be it? Also I replaced the tail light, still fails. I am currently waiting for a brake handle switch to be delivered, I thought maybe it was shorting out. Any other suggestions?
