Velux seat |

I read in various places that people don´t like the seat of the Velux because it´s smooth and slopes downward towards the front of the bike. But while looking at pictures on the Diamo USA site, I saw several pictures of the Velux with a stepped seat and e-mailed them to ask about it. Apparently this is an upgrade you can order from whomever you´re buying the bike from. Unfortunately they didn´t mention how much more it costs, but it´s nice to know it´s available. I met a large fellow (300 lbs?) who´s ridden the velux and loves the smooth seat because it allows him to slide backwards all the way to the backrest when he doesn´t have a passenger on board (long legs!). But smaller folk have complained that they feel like they´re sliding down the seat all the time, particularly annoying on a longer trip. The stepped seat is level on both steps, with the passenger seat being higher up of course. Much more comfy I suspect. To have a look for yourself, go the the Diamo USA site and check out the pictures. There´s one yellow one (from a shop in Sugarland, Texas) with a nice shot of the stepped seat. Care |
