The dark graphite colored 2006 BMW 1200 RT showed is the bike I purchased in October 2006. I didn´t know too much about the bike and made the purchase based on what I was able to read online. Now that I have over two thousand miles on it, I have to say that this bike is my dream bike. I love the adjustable windshield. I have the Electronic Suspension Adjuster which is controled by a button on the left handle bar. When it is switched from the normal position to the much stiffer sport position, the bike handles like it´s on rails going around the curves. I´m 5-10 inches tall and have the seat at it´s highest position. Though I may have to tip toe at times, I don´t mind because the bike handles better at this riding position. I have the BMW GPS and what more can I say, it´s must. If you are going to wear heated Gerbings Products, then you will have to installed the permanant thermostat vs. having the portable thermostat on your person. There is no fumbling with the controls when riding. I´ve also read and experience the hard shifting that people have complained about when shifing into first gear. That again is no problem because I´ve had many bikes that have done the same thing. With my experience, I just pull the clutch in, push on 1st gear and slowly let out and again pull back on the clutch until the gear engages. Not a big deal, but then againg I´m experienced. As for power, the bike flat hauls for a tour bike. I experienced any were from 42 to 45 mpg, but I was alway going 70 to 80 mph. I sure you can get better mileage at 55. As for the seat, I notice my rear going numb after an hour of riding. That was wearing jeans. I just finished a three hour ride with one gas stop and and wore leather pants this time around. I did not experience any riding discomfort wearing leathers.
