Touring on the GS 1200?

I am thinking about going to this bike and touring two-up. Would it be reasonably comfort for the long haul? My wife and I typically do a 5-6k mile trip each summer. The miles are all on asphalt. We are used to an 07 Yamaha Royal Star Tour Deluxe. Would there be quite an adjustment in comfort?
