Power range on 2006 FLSTFSE2 screaming eagle fat Boy

My daughter has one and loves it except for the radical power range. When she gets over 3000 RPM it hits the power range all at once and she doesn´t like the feel. Is there a different cam or something that can be done to make it a smother acceleration?
