| Tmax 2025 key fob/ECU requires emergency start |

| Hi all, I’m experiencing an intermittent smart‑key detection failure on my 2025 Yamaha TMAX 560. The issue is unusual because it fails completely silently — no “Key Not Detected” message, no warnings, and no stored ECU errors. Symptoms • I can ride home normally in the evening, but the next morning the scooter is completely unresponsive it’s like no key is present. • The ignition occasionally refuses to activate with no dash warnings at all. • Emergency start works, and I’ve ridden up to 10 km to different locations, but the issue persists regardless of where I am. • I have two key fobs, both with new batteries, and the problem occurs with both. • After several days of only being able to emergency‑start, the key fob begins partially responding:• Seat button lights up and works • Ignition button lights up and clicks • But the bike still won’t start • Then, a day later, everything works normally again • This “gradual recovery” repeats each time the fault happens. • Dealer diagnostics show no fault codes. • The failure is random and disappears before the dealer can take the bike in (they have a backlog). • Emergency PIN start works every time. • Dealer cannot reproduce the issue. |
