I also have a 98 1500 Classic and it only has 9400 miles as of Nov. 2008. Yes, very LOW MILES. I just had to replace the valve cover gaskets. The entire motor had to come off the bike to do the job. I really enjoy this BIKE and I plan on keeping this for many more years. The 1st owner must of never had time to RIDE. God Bless
