Howdee.
I have a 2008 softail deluxe, since Nov 07. Great bike. Excellent unchanged but I got a HD race fuel injection system with screaming eagle air flow and vance hines 2/2 double radius pipes. The foot boards scrap on sharp cornering. I got 2 inch risers on the front forks and hardened the rear shocks-huge improvement on the handling, huge. Also, changing the rear tyre from Dunlop to Continentals has also made a big difference. Sundowner seat for 2 up is awsome. Great back support for the rider as its so deep. I have 2 tone colour. A real head turner and conversation starter. All in all, a great bike unchanged even, but these were changes suggested by people in the know, and they have made my bike a lot better and more enjoyable riding. I just love it. Good luck.
