As far as the Softail however or any bike for that matter. They are generally all pretty damn well made machines these days. Its been my experience since the mid 70´s that many of the problems bikers have with their machines are due to their own regular maintenance and pre ride inspection negligence. Its the most difficult thing for human beings to do. Point at themselves. The brand wars are fueled only by the parroting ignorance of those that are easily swayed by the competing manufacturers. And this starts right from the beginning of a purchase. If I had one thing to say to anyone buying a new bike. Do not follow Harleys breakin recommendations! If you want those seals to set right, RIDE IT HARD.
