stock pipes suck and the screamin eagle do sound better. If you are going to stick with the shotgun style exhaust then get a set of vance hines or samson long shots. Those are going to be you bes sounding pipes for a shotgun style exhaust. If you want to get a true dual exhaust then go with samson since they are the only ones who make a true dual for that bike. Harley has a dual exhaust kit but it is not true dual. The kit he is refering to is a re-calibration of the EFI. Any time you add an aftermarket exhaust that is going to increase your air flow you have to mke the computerized adjustments to your EFI to compensate for the added ait flow you have added. To be honest you are going to spend a 1000$ or more for a nice set of pipes and to re-calibrate the EFI. The 400 is for a stage one kit and I do believe it is what he is charging you for
When all was said and done I paid about 1500 for a dual exhaust kit, scremain eagle slips-ons, fish tial end caps, and installation. I also had a 10% discount when I had all this put on. 10% on parts that is
