Kawasaki did indeed put a 4 into 2 exhaust on the 1980 Z1-R, the only other year this bike was offered. (There is some discussion as to whether there was a 1979 model. I have no evidence to point to this other than that 1979 offered left-over 1978 bikes.)Search the web for photos of a 1980 Z1-R
