I HAVE A 77 KZ1000, WHICH I FIXED UP. THE BKE WAS A BASKET CASE WHEN I GOT IT, STRIPPED IT TO THE FRAME, SANDBLASTED, TREATED AND PRIMED AND 5 COATS OF DUPONT BLACK ENAMEL. ENGINE HAS BEEN BORED OUT TO 1045 AND FITTED WITH WISCO PISTONS. FRONT END AND BRAKES FROM 81 KZ1000 AS ARE THE ALUMINUM WHEELS. I WELDED IN AS MANY GUSSETS AROUND THE THE STEERING HEAD AS I COULD GET TO STIFFEN FRAME AND OPENED UP ALL ENGINE MOUNT HOLES TO 7/16" AND FITTED ALL STAINLESS MOUNTING BOLTS. FRONT FENDER IS SHORTENED AND REAR FENDER IS CHOPPED OFF JUST OUT OF SIGHT. THE PAINT IS DARK GREEN, AND FRONT FENDER IS ALSO PAINTED.THE EXHUAST IS 4 TO 1 YOSH SYSTEM WHICH I WANT TO REPLACE WITH KERKER MEGAPHONE. ALSO I NEED TO REPLACE ORIGINAL REAR SHOCKS WITH SOMETHING DECENT. THE BIKE RUNS WELL AND HANDLES PRETTY GOOD NOW WITH THE MODS CARRIED OUT, BUT IS ALITTLE BIT LOOSE STILL AT 120MPH AND ABOVE. I WOULD LIKE TO HEAR FROM ANYBODY WITH KZ900 OR 1000 TO THROW AROUND IDEAS AND TECH INFO, ESPECIALLY ABOUT HANDLING INPROVEMENTS.
