On page 1-4 of the Kawasaki ´81-83 KZ 1000-1100 Motorcycle Servcie Manual, the designator for a 1982 KZ 1000 LTD is ´ K ´. I have the same bike and when obtaining pieces and parts and using this designator ´ K ´, I have not had any issues and all the pieces and parts fit and work. Hope this hels some.
