| My ATV shifter is stuck in high gear and i can´t go into any other gear. The shifter only shifts when i take it out of the wheeler. When my ATV is idling high I can hear a light scraping sound that eventually goes away when I adjust the idle switch lower.. until I tap or apply gas and then I hear the light scraping again. The further in i push on the accelerator the louder I hear the scraping turning into a medium grinding sound. Not sure if it is coming from the gear box on the side where my left leg goes or if it has anything to do with the shaft drive. I have been having to shut off and start the wheeler while already in gear because it won´t shift. When the wheeler is off (still in high gear) I can hear a grinding sound that sounds like it´s coming from the back of the bike when I push it backwards or forwards. I´ve also noticed that when I turn the key just so the lights come on (without starting the quad) that after 20 seconds the quad will start beeping nonstop. A faint beep beep beep beep beep beep beep beep sound. Not a slow tone and consistent. My engine also heats up quite a bit gets really hot by my right leg after just a couple of minutes of the quad running without any riding. Can anyone help me? I don´t know much about ATVs. Its my first big toy. Bought it second hand. Would appreciate any helpful comments, opinions and ideas. Thanks so much y´all!! |
