| Wow, the Rieju Aventura 500 has a few unique points in its favour. 47bhp and 500cc are more than a Honda CRF300 Rally, and less than a Yamaha Tenere. My guess is that 47bhp will allow cruising at the highway speed limit all day long - its enough. The 18 and 21 inch wheels, along with the long travel suspension, will soak up bumps in second rate tarmac. Not found on other 47bhp 500cc bikes. The 7 inch display is big and generous. Today I get by with 5 inches, which is about half the area. Then we come to the petrol tanks. One 20 liter tank would be generous, but 2 is incredible! OK, 20 liters is not much more than the Honda 500s 17 liters. More impressive is the way they made the 2 tanks invisible - where are they? Where the R1250GSA looks like a petrol tank on wheels, the Aventura just looks like a normal, skinny, trail bike. Hats off. The Aventura is a chinese bike, which has been aesthetically modified to suit european tastes. Looking at both the Aventura and its chinese source, I do prefer the Rieju version. Many high quality products are made (and designed) in China, so we should dismiss the Aventura as a low quality item. What does everyone else think? |
