Severe oil leak after four year sit. |

My 73 1200 FLH has sat for four years. After replacing the condenser, battery, points, plugs, flushing the tanks, cleaning the fuel filter, blowing out the hoses and filling it with gas and a quart of oil, it kicked over on the fifth kick. HOwever, a line that comes from the oil pump housing and transgresses the bike to overhang the chain began to spill oil on the floor (about a quart before I shut the bike down). HOwever, I did not lose any level in the oil case. Is this line designed to oil the chain? Could it be pumping out the old oil that is sitting in the engine? If that is not possible, what situations should I be investigating? Thanks, Jim Howey |
