happy new year 2005 for all VFR 800 owners all over the world. my name is tito I own a 50 th aniversary model since 1999 and rode it since for 40000 km, I live in Beirut Lebanon where we can ride almost all year round.
I want to share my experience with other owners, knowing that I mounted a carbon racing REMUS slip-on exhaust with K&N air filter.
This bike is amazing,it can perform all what you expect from. I drive since 1972, changed many bikes, but still in love with my 50th aniversary.I use it for daily purpose, on sundays I join the band for super rides in my beautiful country, ranging from coastal areas to 2500 meters altitude and the bike runs like a watch. the only problem I got was the rectifier (regulator) that failed on me after 20000 km. I can tell that the performance of the bike were much improved with the exhaust and the air filter, reaching 250 km/h on highways on early sundays, not matching the speed of the cbr1000rr or the r1 of the band. my bike is great, takes me anywhere from the traffic jam of busy Beirut to the enchanted CEDARS area at 2500 meters high. yes I´m proud of my good old VFR 800 50th aniversary and won´t exchange with no other bike on earth, she is my lady. looking forward in 2006 to get the new VFR1200 XX. PLEASE give me some feed back from owners of the same bike, and news from the expected 2006 version. thanks for ansewring,drive carefully. tito.
