| Well I just bought a 71 BSA Lighting, all original except tires brakes and fork seals, certed right away, but I still took it to my Bike Mechanic, he is one of the best for working on British Bikes in Canada. But he had about 18 bikes ahead of mine, so he called me yesterday and he had replaced all the engine seals, but an electronic ignition in it, but it turns out the carbs are thin and need to be replaced, so they are one the way by rush currier, nope to have her mid next week, This is the same year model and colour of the first bike I owned when I was in the Canadian Army, I was not looking to buy another bike, but when I saw her I had to buy it, I broke my right knee cap on my 71 Lighting, in the late 80s, then in 90 I bought a 72 BSA Thunder Bolt with a Lighting head, 2 yours later I broke my right knee cap on her..so that was the end of me owning bikes until 3 wees ago. WOW my insurance is almost $1000 a year for just liability, I think that is a bit high as I have a clean Drivers license and CVOR for my truck driving...but it is hard to find anyone in Ontario that will insure older bikes..anyone have any iideas of a better place to get insurance? How many BSA riders are there i Ontaio, anyone here? |
