Robbie, DidnĀ“t you ever use the tickler on the carb float bowl? Also you are not entirely correct in saying that there were no chokes. The B389 Amal Monoblocks had them but when Bultaco switched to the Concentrics they were eliminated. I had a 27mm Monoblock smoothbore originally on mine and dumped it in favor of the usual 30mm Mikuni. That Monoblock would give me nothing but fits. Often times the slide would stick open due to heat from the cylinder after only riding it for ten to fifteen miles. It was rather embarrassing coming to a stop light and have the engine screaming away, leaving me no choice but shut it down, push to the curb, and let it cool down before continuing on. Not fun!
