Hi.
I have a -96 VT1100 ACE and have the same problem.
When the clutch is in and i speed up the engine the vibrations follows the engine up and down. So clearly it is a problem in the engine/fuel system.
I just bought the bike and have yet not been able to test another one to see if there is the same problem with other bikes.
But I have now ordered tools to calibrate the carbs and will try that
