You are right about the liquid cooling being an asset to achieve longer motor life. I would think that the behaviour an individual exhibits after a cold motor start would have the greatest impact on engine life- hard acceleration and higher rpm while cold would negatively impact longevity. I gentle warm up (not just sitting idling mind you) with low rpm and light loads should allow a motor to get through its greatest wear period with minimal impact. In such cases, I would think 100-125K miles would not be out of the question- the Goldwing motor has better balance and I would guess it contributes to the high mileage capability.
