I traded my 2016 Harley Heritage (Twin Cam 103 with Stage 1 upgrade and Vance & Hines slipons, and new Metzler Cruisetec tires) for a 2021 Road King and the difference is major. I was at my Harley dealership on a Sunday for an event and saw the Road King - I had the salesperson setup the bike with a tallboy seat and it made a big difference. I am 6ft tall and 250 lbs, the Road King is about 150lbs heavier than my 2016 Heritage. The weight difference of the Road King was not a major concern, but the bike was so much better in all aspects - especially the suspension and brakes. The only thing I need to upgrade is the handlebars (14in apes)/grips, LED lights all around and a Stage 1 upgrade with some Vance & Hines Tourquer 450 slipons (I had the dealer install the heel/toe shifter). A passenger backrest and rear seat rack is also a possible upgrade for me. The Milwaukee 8 engine is a noticeable upgrade and the bike drops to 850rpm on idle smoothly when the engine gets hot. The engine heat is not an issue like it is on the 2016 Heritage 103 Twin Cam which caused quite a few leg burns. The Road King suspension performance on the highway is totally 100% superior at 60mph and above - bike rides smooth and stable at all speeds on local streets. Two up riding is also much more comfortable and stable on highway and local streets. No problems braking on the Road King on uneven or any type of bad road conditions. This is crazy, but after purchasing the Road King I discovered it is also much better at doing wheelies. I could not be happier with my decision to upgrade to the 2021 Road King.
