I owned a Moto Morini 500-S for about 5 years. It is the best bike I ever owned, and there is no other bike like it.

It sounds like a Harley, I guess because of the 72deg V twin, and the push rod valves. Mine was a 78, and to be pushing almost 100hp per litre back then was something, especially with 2 valves, push rods and carbies.

OK its not the fastest bike araound, it pretty much finishes around 180kmhr, but hey tahts enough, and below 150 on a winding road, nothing touches it. Biggest problem, is scraping your knees when going around corners, the Morini really wants to hug the ground when she turns.

In terms of bad points, the Morini only has three real faults, the electical system, the electrical system, and the electrical system. Forget the electric started, take it out and save the weight. Still when tunned properly, it starts first time no problems.

Mine had been painted badly, so I stripped it back to the frame and repainted it to original colours, and modified the seat with a rise in the middle to make it easier to hold on.

Great bike, ... any one got one for sale?
