A solid, low tech bike with a whole bunch of quirks. I owned my example for 5 years and in that time everything that could go wrong with it did. It was supplied with a very comprehensive toolkit and I needed every darned tool down the years! Having said that, I loved the old ´Russian ****´ as I ´jokingly´ refered to her. I could corner her with more confidence than any other bike I´ve owned (probably because of her weight holding her on the road) and we had some great times. She came with a lightweight sidecar which was a dream to drive (when I had it on) as it tracked true and even allowed hands off coasting! Quirks:- A key in the headlight which has to be pushed down to turn the ignition on so if you go over a bump it pops out and the ignition is cut so I used to put a rubberband around the key to keep it in... It had a left hand kickstarter and a right hand chain. It had a clutch system where the clutch was engaged either manually, by pulling the lever or automaticly when moving the gear change. It had aluminium ´halves´ covering the carburator which, if you weren´t carefull could be tightened up over the throttle cable, jamming it open... It had a revolutionary ´one button´ system to remove the whole seat and rear mudguard for maintenence. She didn´t have a single ´phillips´ screw on her - just slotted. The list goes on! Any comments, please e-mail me! Brian.
