Ok so the bike is fairly old, but I had some work done on it when I bought it second hand. Carb cleaned, tank flushed, new starter, new battery, new exhaust, new speedo cable. it wouldn´t start on the ignition switch when I bought it, but would kick...even after replacing all the above it still wouldn´t start on ignition switch...I was told there may be a fuel obstruction by my mechanic. It absolutely hates the rain and splutters almost cuts out even in a light shower. The exhaust is smoking more and more and all the above work was only done three months ago......I have to keep topping the engine oil every couple of weeks as it just seems to be burning away. to top it off it just won´t go up hills. I am a big guy to be fair (the mechanic said it was because of this) I disagree I have ridden a moped 50cc abroad many times whilst working and up steep hills with no problem. I would ideally like to try and change the engine oil and the gear box oil myself, but I cannot find any guides anywhere. Any help, advice or constructive comments are welcome :-) Richard. |
