Help Ignition Problem

Have an ignition problem, was riding out of a friends drive way and the bike just quite running like someone turned the bike off then would not start. check the spark on the plugs and nothing.

I know there could be a 100 things that caused this, but was hoping that there is something out there like common problem on what has caused this?
