Dnepr is for the original biker |

I have a Dnepr 650 with sidecar. Now this pet has a personality of it´s own. After initial run in problems - redrilling lubrication channels, installing missing parts etc. - I have to admit it´s an animal made for the original enthusiast. A backfire in town easily gives a relaxing respite in the countryside a few miles down the road. While sipping hot coffee I could be regrinding and resetting the valves or adjusting the carbs. Such minor repairs have to be expected without warning. So, if you can´t handle it - You´re not Tough Enough. When my pet is in a purring mood, it starts first kick even when cold. This is impressive. One kick, and it goes straight into a very slow idle. It ticks over at around 400 rpm which translates into bug eyes from experienced on lookers. Now, top speed is not an issue here. Driving is also something not advisable for the inexperienced. But if you are ready for a real experience and are ready to log 50 kgs of tolls around ( which is my minimum kit) than go for it. RK Norway I just love it. So does my wife and daughter. My Goldwing I have to drive alone, but a line forms when I fire up the russkie. |
