My experience with my cz was with it from new. It was a very uncomon bike in Australia, and sold new for $499au (very cheap). This was my first bike. I was unlicenced and it was uninsured. The authorities had much more of a sense of humour then, and I rode it all over the place. I cared little that it was relatively slow in a straight line and had big gaps in the four speed gearbox. Desperate riding and the not all bad handling and grip saw the unbrakable noble little steed win some memorable stoushes against ridiculously superior bikes. It is a nice homely honest little beast that is best riden at fairly low revs in a reflective manner. Of course when I was young the very idea that one could enjoy pottering around was ludicrous. So I gave my lovely strange little beast to my dad. And it happily puttered on. The really very good brakes often saved my bacon! I went on to enjoy and ride some fairly fast and furios critters. But now I Know that that little beast was as good a piece as any of the others. Criuse at 45 to 70 kmh I recon. I once got pulled back to first gear on the flat in a winter gail!
