1/ the whizz and sudden battery drain might have been caused by the stater motor running by mistake. 2/ what ignition are you talking about? if it´s the plug, there is no prblem replacing it but if somthing else like coil or module, there is a problem. I can see that you and your mum´s friend, are not experienced mechanics. then instead of searching for advice in the forum, you´d better take your scooter to a qualified service shop, where they will have the knowlege and parts to fix the battery and the ignition problems.
