Hello , I own a 2005 MZ 1000 S in silver.I own many motorcycles ;11 to be exact and I love this MZ . I have ridden this bike over 10,000 miles over the years and find it a pleasure to ride . The ergos are perfect for a 6 foot 185 lb. rider .I live in southern california and do a lot of mountain and canyon ridding and find this bike perfect for this type of terrain .The bike has performed very well without problems with one small exception . The starter especially when cold is acting up .It acts as the starter is not strong enough to turn the high compression engine over .I have removed the starter , disassembled it and checked all the internals and found no fault .I have already changed the battery as it was time anyway [5 years old ]. I am in the process of locating a new starter solinoid [ Hitachi ] and I will check the starter drive gear for a possible split or crack .if anyone out there has had a similar problem on their MZ 1000 S , I would like to hear from you .I would also like to talk about your views and experiences on this model . I guess what I realy like about this bike is that I am the only person in my area that has one [ that I know of ].
