Amen brother. It´s amazing to me how many riders are so incredibly enthralled with which bike could a much better rider than me make go 2 mph faster. I personally ride the YZF600R. It´s big and a little bulky, but I´m 6´1", and it fits me. I have fun, and there´s no checkered flag where I ride. That´s all I´m worried about.
