I recently purchased a 1999 ST4 and I love it. However, just the other day I had the chance of riding my friends ST3, 2006 model. What a difference in comfort and sound.
ST3 is using the wet clutch and they have raised the handlebars by around 20 mm or so.

I know that spacers are available for the handlebars so thats one issue resolved but can the bike be modified to improve the clutch? I´m thinking of improving the clutch as mine is quite tough to pull the lever in and the mechanic tells me this is normal. And running at 3k revs in 1st or 2nd sounds like a bag of chains. Again the mechanic informs me this is the sound of a ducati.

A read an article where someone reduced the driven sprocket by one tooth and now the bike runs at lower speeds and higher revs making the bike tamer in town. Has anyone else done this and if so please advise on what you used and how does it perform??
