I have a 1998 BMW 650 with 3000 miles. I have had it for 1500 miles and I am a fairly new rider, especially when it comes to mechanical issues. I have a couple of questions for anyone who might there...I just got the bike back from a repair shop and it seems that the oil is well over the max. on the stick. This is the second time this has happened. Do you think the shops mis-judge, or am I supposed to be running over the max on this bike? Probably a stupid question but there it is. Second, they put on what must be a very nice chain at $120, so...how do I take care of it? I have read a number of cheat sheet but I am still confused....it seems that I wipe clean then apply a silicone lube spray...is that correct? If so, how often? Third, what is the confort range for this bike. I have gotten a number of different answers. One person said keep it at 3100 rpms, but if I do that I won´t be able to go over 55 mph. I think I have the ear for where to be in the powerband around town, but I recently went 300 miles on the highway at an average speed of 73 with the rpms around 5000. Is this too high for steady driving? I would greatly appreciate answers if you have them. Thanks, Garth
