Purchased a Sym Joyride recently, 125cc. Absolutely delighted with all aspects ESPECIALLY the build quality. I installed an Unrestricted CDI from the 180cc model (plug and play) took 5 minutes to do so and the difference is incredible. The Scooter now runs all day long at 72mph as against the 60mph previous speed. I also replaced the standard NGK spark plug with an Iridium CR7HIX 7544 and that cured the cold-starting problem immediately. Lastly, Synthetic 10/40 Motorcycle oil to keep everything well lubricated. What an absolutely lovely Scooter, have been a Honda owner for 35 years and would defintely by another Sym anytime.
