Rebel: smaller, lighter, cheaper, slightly easier on low-speed (parking lot) stuff, more Honda service depts., better gas mileage, long-tested, simple (primitive) in lots of ways, including single-carb and no oil filter (yikes?). Consistent top speed for me of 65mph if any wind or hills involved. Better if drafted by a truck or similar. Venox: Smoother, more powerful, faster, larger and much more comfortable. Generally much newer technology, based on a 250 Honda Magna overseas (Kymco made stuff for Honda for years). 90-degree V-twin better all-around than a parallel (360-degree) twin (see all the SV650´s, SV1000´s, VStroms, Ducatis?), and a lot less buzzy. Liquid cooled too. You don´t need to do a lot of shifting because the gears are so spread out. Amazing fit/finish. Much MUCH better seat. Better bars, indicators, etc. Definitely an upgrade in every way from the Rebel except you lose a little in mpg´s. Easier to hit 70´s in mpg´s on a Rebel, where you´ll see upper 50´s at least on a Venox if you ride in town reasonably, and about 50mpg on the highway, maybe a little more on both. If you don´t care about comfort and won´t run much over 70mph, you can also consider an S40/Savage from Suzuki. Torquey like a Sportster, but what makes your senses \ |
