I´m considering buying a 1997 Dyna that has been disassembled and in the process of being rebuilt after a wreck/fire. It looks good and intriguing. I´m not looking for a steal on a bike but rather the joy of rebuilding and tinkering.

The big x-factor is the engine. It is disassembled. Not sure if I should but the bike and just put it back together OR get the engine bored and rebuilt OR buy another assembled engine OR punt on the whole project. I was a bit freaked by the rough price of 3,500 to rebuild what I already have.
