My friend has recently bought an old ec300 and after about half throttle when i expected the power to start coming in it starts missing and stuttering. I am new to 2strokes having only owned 4´s and was wondering if anyone might be able to point me in the right direction as to what might be the problem.

I was wondering if it has a power valve and if so how it is operated as i was playing with my other friends CRM250 and the valve was stuck on that when he bought it as well. After having a quick look at the carb from the outside i was expecting to be able to see a housing for the valve although i couldn´t see anything obvious.

I am planning to give the bike a good service soon as it definalty needs one and was hoping i would be able to fix this issue in the process.

Any information would be great as like i said im new to 2strokes and havent really got to grips with them in the same way i have with 4´s.
