Engine problems????

I have a 2001 ktm 200 exc , last weekend it was running amazing , plenty of power , nothing wrong with it and then out of the blue I heard a loud rattle followed by the bike bogging and then dying , something sounded loose like it was rattling when I Reyes to kick it over so I pulled the top end apart to see if that was the issue and everything looks bran new like nothing was wrong , my question to you is what could it be? It seemed like it would cycle through all of the gears just fine and the stator didn´t look damaged , what could have come apart and could reed valves be my issue?
