Info on KTM 640 series (or others) dual sports sought |

I have "fallen in love" with the overall quality I have seen on KTMĀ“s motorcycles. I would like a nice dual-sport that will be used primarily on road, but will have the capability to run an occassional light trail. I wish KTM made a nice mid-displacement (250-350cc) 4 stroke dual purpose bike. I currently have a Kawasaki KLR 250 which is decent, but not quite enough on road. The weight difference between the two is only about 50 lb. or so, and I think the KTM will fit the bill nicely. My KLR has corrosion problems because everything is steel and the KTM seems to be much better protected against the elements (aluminum and steel with superior coatings). Also - is the 625 SXC available with an on road kit (lights, turn signals, etc..)? What is the price? I know they quit importing the LC4 640 (what a shame, just when I saved up for one!). Any insight on the future (if any!) of KTM dual sport bikes? Please add additional comments on the KTM 4 stroke engine reliablity, costs, performance, longevity, etc.. Thanks, Mark |
