I also have a 2000 model 380exc here in queensland Australia and I love it. I used to ride open class motocrossers back in the ´80´s and it´s the best thing since my old Yamaha 465. Anyway, about a year ago my bike lost all of it´s gears in the worst possible spot (way out in the bush with lots of very step anr rocky hills). After pushing the thing about 3km a friend suggested that I try the gears again. I did and found first which was a great relief. The problem was that the selector barrel pins on this model are mounted in a plastic holder (silly I know) which had broken. Fortunately, the pins had not come loose and gone through my transmission. The culprit is to be found under the clutch cover (at RHS of engine), just below the kickstarter gears. The new part from KTM has been upgraded to replace the plastic bits with aluminium alloy which should work well. I hope this helps, |
