Managed to mount GPS on handlebars, strapped to foam rubber tube wrapped around centre of bars - went well. Woohoo, fun on the dirt. Very hard to stay under 4800rpm as per run-in instructions Took it to 130kmh on clock. Vibrates a little but it is a big single. Speedo underreads I think according to GPS anyway, about 5km per hour. Front of tank will very quickly look second hand running it through the scrub. Bushes, stones etc will quickly damage paintwork. 245k on clock now, gearbox is still clunky. Tyres are run in now. This bike can really be leant over in the corners (Enduro 3-standard tyres) on bitumen with confidence. It almost begs to be pushed harder on twisty mountain roads and eats up any rough or loose surface around the corners. Tyres seem quite acceptable in the dirt too. How do they make a tyre that does both? Certainly not up to a true road knobby (e.g. MT21) but they do both jobs well. Can´t wait for the next ride. |
