Beware the Carb on the GZ 125

I have been talking to a few of the suzuki dealers and mechanics latley and they have been advising me that the maurauder engine is a sound one, however they are finding more and more that the most likely thing to fail on the bike is the carb, first the varb needle will need to be replaceed and around a month after this you can be sure that the carb will need to be replaced. In my part of the world would this will cost around €100 to €200. If your wondering how you will know the carb is shot or on its way out, here are some tell tale signs.

Firstly in the early stages you should notice that when you come to a stop and come off the revs petrol still feeds into the bike.

When the needle is nearly caput you should notice that awful chug chug feel. when its finally shot the bike just dies as the bike floods.

3 to 4 hundred km down the road low speed driving becomes a night mare constant cut out if revs not kept high , repeated chuggin at low speeds, smokey exhaust and sound from the exhaust at low revs if the most depressing sound you will ever hear. At this stage it just needs to be replaced.

I owned this bike and had these problems it took a lot of trips to the mechanic to get this sorted lookily iwas not charged for the visits that often, so if you own one and the bike begins to behave like its fit for the scrap heap dont despair all is not lost, just some of your money.
