It´s easier to kick over my TE 410 with the exhaust valve lifter(decompression lever) pulled in (on the left h/bar) ie pull in the lever, using the kickstarter - push the engine thru a couple of full cycles- to clear it out. Let go the lever. Again, slowly push the engine using the Kickstarter until it´s at top dead centre on the compression stroke. You´ll know this TDC because it´s the position the engine is in, just after it has sucked in fuel&air. So after the sucking sound stops and just a bit more on the kickstarter until it kinda finds a point of resistance. Now give it a good solid kick, with no throttle, it should fire. If not, repeat the slow push thru on the kickstarter to get to TDC again, then give it a solid kick. Mine can be a %!¤ to start if I drop it when hot.But responds well by clearing it out using the decomp. lever 1st. Have fun desertdirt |
