My 06 V-max is great. I ride it like a race bike and yet do so in comfort. I´ve seen a lot of whining about it handeling like crap but they need to learn how to ride. Not the greatest thing on gas but when your zipping from 0 to 120mph as fast as you can fly, who´s thinking gas!
Only trouble I´ve experienced is witht he oil indicator light. When pushing it the oil light comes on even with 20w50 oil. I´ve been told this is due to the force of excelleration making the oil slosh to the back of the pan and away from the sensor in the front. Other than that 5000 mi and no problems. :-) Just have a second set of tires around if you ride like me.
